The main target fish species are trout and grayling, but it is also an excellent option for chub, bass, and other fresh waters fish. This is a very effective nymph, especially for freshly stocked trout.

The best bead color for this fly according to Ciprian's experience is silver and gold for regular types of water when the fish are freshly stocked or unpressured, and bronze and copper when fish are pressured and more stressed. In all situations, a big influence over the bead color is the clarity of the water, the color of the river bottom and the light conditions on a given day.
