Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime, fully-guided, all-inclusive fishing experience on some of the world’s finest trout waters in Patagonia, Argentina.
Hosted by Flotadas Chimehuin: a family-run business with close to 30 years of guiding anglers from around the word at their home waters in Patagonia.
You will be joined by Smart Angling's Ivo Balinov, an accomplished instructor and competitor from Fly Fishing Team Canada who will help with the guiding and will offer on-stream instruction on cutting-edge fly-fishing techniques.
Included: pick up from and drop off at the airport (Bariloche or Chapelco), all meals, drinks, transportation to and from fishing daily, fully-guided fishing (including drift boats, extra rods and equipment as needed), accommodation, camping equipment on the camp night, fishing licenses and access.
Not included: gratuities (fully optional at guests’ discretion); airfare from your home to the Airport in Bariloche or Chapelco (preferred).

ITINERARY
Day 1 (December 13)
Pick up from the Airport in Bariloche or Chapelco (preferred). The Chapelco airport is only 20 min drive to town. Bariloche is 2.5 hrs. Usually most of the flights land in Chapelco around noon.
Depending on the hour of arrival: afternoon or evening float on the Chimehuin River or wade at the Malleo river after check in and lunch at the cabin.
Dinner at the cabin or at a local restaurant.
Day 2 (December 14)
Pick up from cabin at 9.00 am and transportation to Collon Cura River: 30 m – 1 hr drive. Single day float on the Collon Cura River.
On our float trips we take several extra fly rods. We normally take one with a streamer system, another with a regular dry and dropper and also another with a Spanish nymphing setup. The boats have places to safely put the rods that are not been used on the side.
Return to cabin around 7 – 8 pm.
Dinner at a local restaurant or at the cabin.
Day 3 and 4 (December 15-16)
Pick up at 9 am. Floating on an overnight trip the lower section of the Chimehuin River. Drive to the river 5 minutes, drive back 45 minutes.
Sleepover at the river. Included: normal float and fishing day plus all camping gear needed. Everything is carried by an extra cargo boat with 2 assistants. One camping tent per every 2 anglers, dining tent, Illumination system, bar table with different drinks, cocktails and snacks, Argentine Asado with local wines for dinner. In the morning American breakfast, fruits, biscuits, tea, and coffee. After breakfast, we gear up, and we keep floating down the river and fishing.
On December 16 return to the cabin in the evening and dinner at a local restaurant or at the cabin.
Day 5 (December 17)
Pick up at 9.00 am. Float on the Alumine River.
Drive to the river is around 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the selected stretch.
Spend the night at the cabin, dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 6 (December 18) Transition Day
Breakfast at the cabin, after which guests can choose to take it easy at the cabin or fish in the morning. This could be the day to go to town for some shopping.
Transfer to new lodge: Mamuil Malal, San Huberto, 3 Rios or Puente Negro.
Lunch at the new lodge and afternoon fishing.
Day 7- 8 ( December 19- 20)
Breakfast at the dining area of the lodge and depart for fishing at 9.00 am. Depending on the lodge drive to the river can be 3 minutes to 45 minutes.
Fishing all morning. 2.00 pm – typically lunch on the riverside or if the lodge is close by lunch at the lodge and a brief siesta.
Fishing all afternoon on the river and in the evening return to the lodge.
Day 9 (December 21)
Normally this is the departure day. Flights out form Chapelco airport typically leave between 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm. Depending on the lodge, there may be some time for fishing in the morning (lodges San Huberto, Mamuil Malal, Tipiliuke, Puente Negro, Casa de Campo, or The River House). Guests can opt to take it easy on this last morning, stay at the lodge for a late breakfast and packing or do a brief visit to the nearby towns.
Flying out from Bariloche requires more driving time, so the time of departure will determine if there is time for fishing.
