Smart Angling is excited to present the fall 2026 on-the-water edition of the World Class Fly Fishing School, offering a one-of-a-kind chance to fish Spain's technical trout streams with five-time world champion David Arcay.

The program will include classes and practice on the Spanish nymphing and dry fly techniques, competition strategies and fly tying. The school will take place on the wild brown trout rivers of the provinces of Galicia and Leon, offering opportunities for technical but rewarding fishing on different types of water, with opportunities for some trophy fish, as well. The class group is limited to 6 persons, allowing for ample one-on-one time on the water with the instructors each day. David will be joined by fellow instructor Javi Lopez, another of Spain's top anglers and an extraordinarily skillful professional fly tyer.
The fall is prime time for dry fly fishing in Spain.

Depending on their flight arrangements guests can chose to arrive at one of two airports:
Recommended option: A Coruña (LCG): 10 km from the city of A Coruna
Option II: Santiago de Compostela (SCQ): 66 km from the city of A Coruna
Note: arrangements and costs for taxi from the airport to the hotel are the responsibility for the guests and not included in the price of the school
You can also fly to Madrid and take the fast train directly to Lugo, Galicia (the location of the start of the school).
Departure Airport:
Since the program will end in the province of Leon the recommended departure airports are Oviedo or Madrid (Madrid will be a 2hr speed train ride).
Price: $ 3,750 Euro per person (all taxes included)
Deposits and cancellation policy:
50% due upon registration and the balance by mid-May 2026.
Cancellations greater than 90 days from fishing dates will be refunded full deposit less a booking fee of 300 Euro. Cancellations within 60 to 90 days from fishing dates will incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations within 30 - 60 days of fishing dates will incur a 75% cancellation fee.
Cancellations within 30 days of fishing dates will incur a 100% cancellation fee.
